"Izzie"
This place has been redone inside and is a nice place to live. Quiet and reasonable rents 650-750 which is pretty cheap for what you get. Nice laundry facility and lots of security cameras. As in all condos these days there is the odd bad egg but many long term tenants here. I enjoy living there.

"OK starter if you can get
the right unit"
McIntosh Manor's rep is bad. As far as I know, it's not part of the "RCMP Crime-free Multi housing Program." so anyone can move in and do whatever illegal stuff they do. The security cameras only cover the front (just to catch someone stealing from the mailboxes.)and not the car park. I've had my car broken into, and had a digital antenna taken from the ledge of my window, as I live right above the car park, and none of those first floor units have balconies. The building manager is good, as long as you pay your rent and don't cause problems. then again, that's what you'd do anyways, right? It's not such a bad place as long as you get the right unit in the building. Taking a ground floor unit isn't such a good idea, unless you have nothing of value for a crackhead to rip off, or simply don't mind living on that floor. The best units are those that are beside long-time tenants, so ask around to see which unit is right for you. Bottom line, if you're starting out on your own, a single mom on welfare and you can budget $500-$650 for rent, this is a fair choice, although renovated units go up in price, so if you want a nicer unit, you might have to pay more.

"Don't move in here"
This building is terrible. Lived here for 2 years and there are cock roaches, drug addicts and people coming and going all hours of the night. You feel unsafe and it is not very secure especially for families. Building management is a joke. Likes to bully the kids around there and complain about the kids but drug addicts are ok. DON'T MOVE HERE You will regret that you ever did! It is a shame though, it used to be a great building back in the 90s.
