Cascade Green at 2964 Trethewey St. is one of four buildings in this complex in West Abbotsford.  This centrally located condo is only blocks away from City Hall, the Public Library, all levels of schools, Matsqui Recreation Centre and Rotary Stadium. These well maintained and quiet buildings feature gas fireplaces and insuite laundry along with beautiful landscaping including waterfalls at the Trethewey entrance.

"Great complex"

Great complex, never ever had any issues with leaks, well maintained with excellent contingency fund. On-site maintenance manager and pro-active strata council.

"In defense of Cascade
Green"

The person who wrote the first review on this page is either gravely misinformed, or has an axe to grind. These buildings were completed in 1994 and 1995. There was a moderate building envelope problem in the late 1990's, however all four buildings were remediated to code at time and, in the 15 or more years since, there have been NO PROBLEMS with the building envelope of any of the four buildings. Further, the Cascade Green strata council is very proactive, there are two full-time and one part-time maintenance staff on site, and repairs are always taken care of in a timely manner. This is a well-managed, affordable complex in an ideal location. I cannot understand why the first poster on this page would write such blatant untruths.

"cascade green abbotsford"

This is a leaky condo building. It has been repaired but will leak again as the repairs have not been completed properly. That is the same for 'all' buildings that had will become 'leaky.' It will cost on average $25,000 + per unit for repairs. Buyers beware and stay away from buildings that have been built in the 1990s'. Those are low rise and high rise. The buildings in the Quay in New Westminster have 'all' been leaky. Not a good investment unless you want to be in the hole thousands of dollars or declaring bankruptcy which is not a good move. The provincial government will not assist people any longer who will experience this in the future and if you buy one that has 'leaked,' you could be in for a large bill.

I agree. I spent 10 miserable years at Cascade Green with the strata's hand in my pocket. Couldn't get out fast enough. Buyers beware!!

This is not true . There is no leaky condo issue in any of these buildings. In fact this complex is one of few complexes in Abbotsford who has done a depreciation report on the building envelope for new buyers

Never had an issue with this condo complex. I currently live here and have been here since 2008. Six years in, I've had no issues with 'leaking', noise or strata management.

I lived in 2962 for 3 years in the mid-2000s. Absolutely no complaints about leaks, or anything else for that matter. Because of good management, C.G. is like a little community where most people know their neighbours. I loved it there, and I'm looking to buy there again.

I live in this complex. No issues with any leaks whatsoever. GREAT proactive council, with full time maintenance coordinator living in the complex. Reparis are done immediately, the grounds look great. Like any other complex, there may from time to time be a complaint regarding noise or nuisance. Council always take action to resolve these, and fortunately they are just a few and far between. You can own a pet here, which is very nice. Again, no issues with leaks or structure - ever!

Seven hears since someone wrote that this is a leaky condo, but during this time the residents of Cascade Green had paid Zero, Zippo, Nada for water leaks, i.e. There were NO leaks. In fact in this time there was only a modest (few hundred dollars) levy to replace gutters and carpets - the usual maintnance items. The person that wrote this prediction in 2010 obviously had a chip on his shoulder, maybe he was an evicted tentant (only a ahndfull of rentals through 'grandfather' caluse), or his place went to receivership; one can get very bitter and lash out.

I bought into 2962 in 1994. It was my first home purchase and brand new to boot. Better than a new car!!!. Seven years later and $21000 in special assessments, I couldn't get out of there fast enough!!! I'm glad to hear there have been no problems for all the current owners. I wish you all well but for me, Cascade Green is a nightmare I'd rather forget.....
