"Leaky Condo"

We were looking forward to moving into this condo about two months ago. When we hired a seasoned home inspector the results were more than shocking. There are cracks in the walls on the outside wall structure as well as inside the garage on all the garage walls. We were told at first that the moss on the balconies needs to be power washed and the building was going to look as new. Right... The moisture in the balcony we were going to purchase was over 80%. There were workers on a Bobcat lift fixing the first and the second floor units. The balconies were wrapped in a tarp to be able to proceed with the jobs. It's all small "band aid" jobs sooner or later leading to a major overhaul of all the exterior stucco structure. Our advice: we have spent over $300 for the inspection. We want to save anyone else the trouble and money WE went through. Again, it's a buyers beware market. Don't expect the realtors to do do the footwork for you. It's not going to happen. Ourinspector advised us to be extremely careful with building built in the 90's, especially the stucco ones. You might have a better chance with vinyl siding buildings.
